The Right Gummy Factory Depends on the Product

There is no single production route that is optimal for every gummy project.

A classic gelatin bear, a pectin fruit gummy, an extra-sour coated product, a filled gummy and a custom novelty shape can require different formulations, equipment, molds, conditioning processes and packaging systems.

That is why AXTIMES starts with the finished-product brief, not simply a list of factories. We define the target texture, flavour, sourness, shape, formulation requirements, piece size, packaging, destination market and expected order structure. We then compare manufacturing partners whose actual production capabilities fit those requirements.

This reduces a common sourcing problem: selecting a supplier based on price or catalogue photos first, then discovering during sampling that its production line cannot reproduce the required product consistently.

Gummy Formats We Can Source and Develop

Gummy Bears — classic and customised bear formats with different flavour and texture directions.

Worms & Multi-Colour Gummies — single- or multi-colour formats depending on available production capability.

Rings & Fruit Shapes — standard molds or project-specific shape options.

Bottles & Novelty Shapes — concepts requiring greater attention to mold geometry and piece weight.

Sour Gummies — products with adjustable acid profile, coating intensity and sensory target.

Filled or Layered Gummies — available where the selected production line supports the required construction.

Gummy Strips & Ribbons — sweet or sour strip formats, including projects requiring filling, colour layers or specific retail pack configuration.

AXTIMES EXPERIENCE NOTE

AXTIMES has coordinated commercial gummy projects involving extra-sour gummy strips, filled formats, multiple retail pack sizes, custom artwork and labeling, inspection requirements and export handover. A change that looks small to the buyer — for example pack weight, coating level, filling or artwork format — can affect the production and packing route.

Already Have a Product You Want to Match?

A physical benchmark is often more useful than asking a supplier for a “standard fruit gummy.”

You can send AXTIMES a physical product sample, clear photographs, existing packaging, ingredient information, desired piece weight, or a description of the sensory characteristics that must be retained.

AXTIMES converts that reference into a development brief covering the characteristics that actually need to be matched or changed: texture, flavour, acidity, coating, colour, shape, size and packaging.

The objective is not to promise an exact copy before testing. The objective is to give suitable manufacturers a measurable target and compare their samples against it.

Gelatin, Pectin and Special Formulation Requirements

Gelatin Gummies — Gelatin is widely used where the target is the elastic, chewy eating profile associated with classic gummies. For projects with religious, dietary or market-specific requirements, the source and certification scope of the gelatin can be as important as its technical function.

Pectin Gummies — Pectin can support plant-based product directions, but switching from gelatin to pectin should not be treated as a simple ingredient substitution. The change can affect bite, fracture, setting behaviour, acid sensitivity, moisture control and manufacturing conditions. AXTIMES therefore treats a major gelling-system change as a new development route requiring its own sample approval.

Vegan, Halal, Sugar-Free and Other Requirements — Special claims should be defined before manufacturer selection. If the product must be vegan, Halal, sugar-free or meet another specific formulation requirement, AXTIMES incorporates that requirement into supplier screening and sample development. Final feasibility and any certification claim must be confirmed against the selected manufacturer, actual ingredients, formulation, certification scope and destination-market requirements. A factory producing one compliant product should not automatically be assumed to cover every other SKU or formulation.

Custom Gummy Shapes and Tooling

A distinctive gummy shape can become part of the product’s commercial identity.

Projects may use an existing mold or require new tooling for a character, object, logo-inspired form or novelty concept. AXTIMES coordinates shape development with manufacturing feasibility because a design that looks good on screen is not automatically suitable for commercial gummy production.

Thin sections, deep geometry, release behaviour, dimensional variation and target piece weight can all affect production.

A practical custom-shape workflow is: Concept → dimensional review → manufacturing feasibility → tooling route → sample → adjustment → final approval.

Before committing to custom tooling, the project should also clarify tooling cost, ownership, exclusivity and future use.

Sourness Is a Formulation and Stability Problem — Not Just More Powder

“Sour” is not one technical specification. The final sensory effect can depend on the acid system, acid ratios, coating level, gummy surface, moisture, conditioning and packaging.

A sample that tastes intensely sour immediately after production may behave differently after storage or long-distance transport.

AXTIMES therefore treats sourness as a development parameter that should be evaluated together with product stability. For strong-sour products the project may need to align acid profile, coating intensity, moisture behaviour, gummy texture, packaging barrier and expected storage conditions.

This reflects AXTIMES experience with extra-sour gummy strip projects where product specification, retail pack format, marking and pre-shipment quality requirements had to be coordinated as one project rather than separate decisions.

Private Label and Retail Packaging

The gummy and its packaging are separate manufacturing systems. This is why finished-product MOQ and printed-packaging MOQ may not be the same.

Depending on the project and selected manufacturing partner, formats can include bulk packing, retail pouches, individually packed units, display boxes and other retail-ready configurations.

AXTIMES coordinates packaging together with the product specification, including pack weight, packaging structure, artwork requirements, units per inner pack, master-carton configuration and other project-specific marking requirements.

Packaging should be defined early. Moving from a wholesale format to a small single-serve retail pack can change filling speed, packaging material, printing economics, carton configuration and sometimes even which manufacturer is the best fit.

Why We Do Not Publish One Universal Gummy MOQ

The practical minimum order depends on the actual project. Variables can include formulation, number of flavours, mold requirements, production line, piece size, packaging format, printed-material minimums and selected manufacturing partner.

A project may also have more than one MOQ. The factory may have a minimum production run for the gummy itself, while the packaging supplier has a separate print minimum per design. Adding flavours, packaging designs or special materials can therefore change the commercial minimum even if the total weight remains the same.

AXTIMES confirms the applicable MOQ after reviewing the specification and comparing feasible manufacturing routes.

Quality Control Starts Before the Final Inspection

Many quality failures are created before mass production begins: an unclear benchmark, uncontrolled formula changes, different raw materials, ambiguous piece-weight tolerances, packaging changes or a specification that does not capture what the buyer approved.

AXTIMES therefore focuses on continuity between approved sample → written specification → production → packing → shipment.

Depending on the agreed inspection scope, checks can cover product appearance, dimensions or piece weight, sensory comparison, packaging, carton configuration, labeling and other measurable acceptance points.

In AXTIMES commercial gummy projects, delivered quality has been contractually tied to confirmed samples and specifications, reinforcing the need to establish the production reference before shipment.

Laboratory testing and certification checks can also be coordinated when required, but the exact scope must be confirmed for the particular product and destination.

Why Work Through AXTIMES?

Manufacturer Matching — the project is matched to appropriate production capability instead of being forced into one factory’s standard offer.

Product Development Communication — AXTIMES translates buyer feedback into practical supplier-facing requirements and sample adjustments.

Commercial Comparison — price is evaluated together with MOQ, packaging, tooling and project constraints.

Production Coordination — the same project logic follows the product from approved sample into mass production.

Quality & Documentation — quality checks and document requirements are coordinated before shipment rather than discovered at the end.

China-Side Execution — AXTIMES can coordinate manufacturing partners, domestic logistics and export preparation within the agreed transaction structure.

AXTIMES does not own a gummy factory. Our role is to identify suitable manufacturing capability and manage the commercial and operational interface between buyer and manufacturer. This becomes especially valuable when a project combines benchmark matching, new flavours, extra-sour formulations, custom molds, unusual retail packs, labeling or destination-market requirements.
